This volume argues that dialectics permeates the totality of Marx's body of ideas and activities. Major themes include Marx's transformation of the Hegelian dialectic; the inseparability of Marx's economics, humanism, and dialectic; the battle of ideas with post-Marx Marxism, beginning with Engels; Black liberation, internationalism, and women's liberation; today's burning question of the relationship between spontaneity, organization, and philosophy; the emergence of counter-revolution from within the revolution; and the problem of what happens after the revolution.</p><p/><br></br><p><b> About the Author </b></p></br></br><p><strong>Raya Dunayevskaya</strong> (1910-1987), founder of Marxist-Humanism, was secretary to Leon Trotsky in exile in Mexico (1937-38). Her major writings include <em>Marxism and Freedom</em> (1957); <em>Philosophy and Revolution</em> (1973);<em>Rosa Luxemburg, Women's Liberation, and Marx's Philosophy of Revolution</em> (1982); and <em>American Civilization on Trial</em> (1963). </p><p><br /><strong>Franklin Dmitryev</strong> is co-Trustee of the Raya Dunayevskaya Memorial Fund, National Organizer of News and Letters Committees, and co-editor of <em>Russia: From Proletarian Revolution to State-Capitalist Counter-Revolution</em> (Brill, 2017). He has written numerous articles on Dunayevskaya's thought, environmental justice, and social issues. </p>
