At the height of the Cold War, Sherwood Schwartz filmed "Gilligan's Island," which depicts seven castaways shipwrecked on a deserted island. The Gilligan Manifesto reveals this seemingly innocuous sitcom was intended as an analogue for a post-apocalyptic world where survivors must rebuild civilization and astoundingly create a communist society. The film stars Schwartz, as well as Russell Johnson ("The Professor") and Dawn Wells ("Marry Ann") and is narrated by Chicago 7 defendant Rennie Davis.
