Culled from thousands of his <i>Tribune</i> columns and edited by his son David Royko, this collection offers up his best material from the last stage in his career, which was cut short by his premature death in 1997.<p/><br></br><p><b> About the Author </b></p></br></br>Born and raised in Chicago, <b>Mike Royko</b> (1932-1997) produced more than 7,500 daily columns for the <i>Chicago Tribune</i>, the <i>Chicago Sun-Times</i>, and the <i>Chicago Daily News</i>. He also wrote numerous books, including the acclaimed <i>Boss</i>, a critical biography of Richard J. Daley and the Chicago Democratic machine. He won the Pulitzer Prize for commentary in 1972.
