The Little Gem Magnolia is the perfect tree for your yard if you are seeking a smaller version of the evergreen magnolia without sacrificing any of the usual beauty. The Little Gem reaches only 20 ft. to 25 ft. with a spread of 8 ft. to 12 ft. and has a slow growth-rate, approximately 1-1/2 ft. per year. The Little Gem is recognized for its prolific flowering that lasts 6-months of the year, which lasts from May through October. It can flower in 2-year to 3-years. The Little Gem Magnolia produces large fragrant creamy white saucer shaped flowers that are 8 in. W. The Little Gem has beautiful shaped oblong leaves that are 5 in. to 7 in L and 2 in. W to 3 in. W. Little Gems have small leaves that are stiff and leathery with a deep glossy green color on top and a bronze-brown fuzzy underside. It still produces the characteristic fragrant, creamy white flowers and, in fact, tends to bloom more than the Bracken Brown Beauty. This magnolia makes a great specimen tree.
