Meyer was born and raised in Western Pennsylvania, where he discovered a lifelong love of the outdoors-- hunting, fly fishing, hiking, canoeing-- though he never has enjoyed sleeping in a tent. He is an avid fan of Dungeons & Dragons, comic books, and the Steelers. He lives with his wife, two daughters and dog in Philadelphia, where being a Pittsburgh sports fan can be a liability. Skate is his first novel.
