In "Miracle" (2004), Kurt Russell is the coach of a U.S. Olympic hockey team faced with the herculean task of bringing respectability to a floundering program and preparing 20 amateur hockey players to play in the Olympics. Their triumph would later be known as the 'Miracle on Ice.' "The Rookie" (2002) stars Dennis Quaid as a high school baseball coach. To motivate his team, he says he'll try out for the majors if they make the playoffs. When they do, he tries out, not realizing his arm still has some life in it.
