Season 2 begins with Mack (Max Martini) and Tiffy (Abby Brammell) making plans to leave the Unit, but Tiffy considers divorcing Mack after she discovers a letter indicating he has reenlisted. Meanwhile, Jonas (Dennis Haysbert) learns that Molly (Regina Taylor) lost their life savings in a real-estate scam and confronts her about it. Molly, desperately needing cash to care for her aging mother, reluctantly agrees to recruit a soldier, Jeremy Erhart (Daniel Wisler), away from the military for a private firm that pays big money for referrals. Jeremy's lonely and unstable girlfriend Crystal Burns (Summer Glau) has a one-night stand with Mack. When he calls off the affair, Crystal causes major problems for the Unit. Tiffy covers for Col. Ryan's wife Charlotte (Rebecca Pidgeon) after she sees her driving erratically and discovers pills in her car. Unfortunately, Tiffy's good deed gets her into trouble with the law. At a political rally, Tiffy defends her views on warfare and is offered a job with a legal clinic, even though her politics drastically differ from that of her boss Wilson James (Jon Hamm), who begins to fall in love with her. Bob Brown (Scott Foley) joins the CIA for a covert mission that could put Jonas' career in jeopardy, causing Brown's loyalty to be questioned. In Washington, D.C., the Unit's future is threatened when it is investigated for possible war crimes. As for Unit missions, they include rescuing an African dictator from a flooded U.S. hospital during a hurricane; orchestrating a prison escape in Bulgaria for a former Unit operator; freeing hostages taken at an elite private school near Washington, D.C., where children of government officials attend; and diffusing a bomb at the United Nations. In addition, Jonas is given a top-secret personal assignment by the president (William H. Macy) that he can't divulge to anyone, including Col. Ryan (Robert Patrick)<br />
